Safer Internet Day 2018

Safer Internet Day 2018

It's Safer Internet Day 2018!

This day is coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre and sees lots of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. If you want to get involved visit Safer Internet. Safer Internet Day 2018 not only focuses on creating a safer internet but a better internet. They want everyone to be empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

This year the slogan is:

" Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you"

Some of Safer Internet's aims:

  • Get children and young people to work together in creating a better internet by being kind and respectful to others online along with protecting their online profiles.
  • Parents and carers to empower and support young people to use technology in the right way.
  • Educators, social workers and teachers to give young people the digital skills and thinking need to be able to navigate the digital world
