Information

Anchor Foster Care is a family run, independent, not-for-profit independent fostering agency proactively working to provide the right kind of care and support to children and young people in our care.

We provide a fostering service that develops and encourages both new and experienced foster carers to achieve good outcomes in a safe, stable and nurturing environment. Read more about our organisation’s history here or contact us here.

“We, in the Anchor placements team, pride ourselves on careful matching and good placement planning. This results directly in more sustainable placements that do not break down easily. If there are any signs of a possible placement breakdown, our Supervising Social Workers liaise with local authority social workers to arrange a ‘Placement Stability’ meeting. This meeting with the whole ‘team around the child’ puts immediate measures in place to support and save the placement, provided it is agreed that it is in the best interests of the child. If it isn’t, we still have the opportunity to arrange a ‘planned move’ rather than have an emergency situation. Our pro-active approach minimises the negative effect of placement breakdowns all round.”
