Ukraine: A Statement of Support and Hope

The heart-breaking situation in Ukraine has caused untold devastation and disruption to the lives of children, young people and their families across the country.

As a child and family-focused fostering agency, our sincere thoughts, hearts and hopes are with all those who have been affected.

To offer our support to the families of Ukraine during this incredibly difficult time, Anchor Foster Care has made a donation, matched pound for pound by the UK Government, to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

We understand that many of our families will be looking for ways to navigate difficult conversations and anxieties during this uncertain time.

Children and young people may wish to ask questions or share their worries, but may not know how to express their thoughts. We have shared resources to help families sensitively talk with children, to process the situation and open important lines of communication.

We have also reassured all of our families, children and staff, that we will provide additional emotional and well-being support, should they feel the need to talk about any concerns they may have.

When the time comes, we will be here to continue providing safety, stability and hope to Ukrainian children and families, who need our help as they make the difficult journey to the UK in seek of refuge. Anchor will be ready to support them in rebuilding their lives.
