De-escalation and Breakaway

In De-escalation and Breakaway training you will learn about taking control of dangerous situations. This will help you to reduce the risk of harm that could be caused to others or themselves. 

Physical intervention should only be used by trained carers. 

During the course, we will cover:

  • Understanding the law in relation to the use of physical restraint 
  • Evaluate risks and methods to reduce risks
  • Demonstrating non-pain compliant methods of control
  • Learn about restrictive methods of control and when to use them
  • Understanding importance of incident reports and de-briefing

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as set out in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011. 

The course runs from 10 am - 1 pm with lunch at 1 pm.
