E-safety Tips

E-safety tips are always important, especially when the internet is always evolving. It can sometimes be hard to know what to do to help keep children safe.

Be Smart and follow these E-Safety tips:

SMART (E-Safety Tips) –

S – Stay safe, remember not to give away your personal information this includes personal information, images, passwords and any other security information. Also remember

M – Minimum age, there are age limits for the different social networks, so be aware of what these are.

A – Be Aware, tell your child what is appropriate and inappropriate content. They may not understand what is age-appropriate, illegal and reliable. Also be aware that sometimes there are additional costs with apps and websites. Get the child to ask before they purchase anything.

R – Reliability, not all the information on the internet is true. Along with this sometimes someone may lie about who they are.

T – Talk, to your child and let them know that they can come to you if you have any worries. That if there are concerns they should report it.

These, E- Safety tips are a guide, but it is important to talk about subjects like this with your children. To make them fully aware of the dangers and how to be safe. To know that they can come to you if they have any worries or concerns.
