Why Become a Foster Carer?
It's rewarding - watching a young person grow and develop into a secure adult ready to conquer the world is an amazing feeling.
But don't just take our word for it. Our foster carers Zahra and Ali say,
"The best part of fostering is when I can give my love and help the children grow up; I enjoy it with all my heart. It’s a very hard work, 24 hours a day, but if you love children you will really enjoy it."

Who Can Foster?
Anyone can become a foster carer as long as you are over 21, have a spare bedroom and can provide safety, stability and hope. In addition to this, you should ideally be in good health and be able to drive.
Why Do We Need Foster Carers?
The Fostering Network reports that there are more than 65,000 looked after children in England, and a further 6,800 foster families are needed in England alone.
Why Foster With Anchor Foster Care?
You'll get a fantastic package, including support, benefits and training which will give you confidence and the tools you need to foster. And we're a family based not-for-profit agency, which means we're not owned by a bigger organisation. Whenever you need to chat you can reach out directly to anyone you need, including our directors, Florence and Alistair.
Our foster carers Helen and Colin say,
“We found being with Anchor you are able to call a director, like Alistair or Florence, because all the staff are accessible no matter what level." Just one of the benefits of fostering with us.
