“Anchor is, really good at matching and they’ve given us all the support we need and more. ”

My mum was a foster carer for many years, and my sister, so I’ve always wanted to do it. We spoke about it together and it was what he wanted to do too. We got empty nest syndrome. When my eldest son left home, we started fostering.

We transferred to Anchor Foster Care because we did not feel that we had the support with our old agency. We started searching for other agencies and we came across Anchor. They seemed more supportive and are not-for-profit which we liked the idea of as the money goes back to the children.

The little boy that we were fostering was leaving in January and we did not want to move until he found his ‘forever family’. When he left in January, we thought it is a new year, new start, try something new.

The transfer process was brilliant and done very quickly. We were given a timescale of 3 months to transfer which was met. Anchor kept us informed at all stages of the process. They’ve delivered on all their promises and we have never looked back.  Anchor is, really good at matching and they’ve given us all the support we need and more.

If you are thinking of fostering go for it, there is nothing to lose. We get far more back from fostering than we ever imagined.
