Nearly 7,000 foster families  are needed in the UK.

We need foster parents for young children and older teenagers, sibling groups, parent and child, unaccompanied minors - both 'Standard' and 'Specialist' types of foster placements.

We offer information and advice on fostering, give full support with the application and assessment process through to approval as foster parents for Anchor Foster Care.

We also welcome and support experienced carers wishing to transfer through our streamlined transfer process (as per The Fostering Network’s Transfer Protocol).

We provide a fully comprehensive training programme to all carers, invest in professional development and training for carers in standard and specialist areas, and once approved, we provide immediate support by Anchor staff, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We also pay for 25 days respite per year and provide half-term and holiday activities for your own children as well as foster children.

If you are over 21 years old, (there is no maximum age limit), have at least one spare room, are energetic and healthy and love children, then we would like to hear from you. Come to join our professional, family-focused, well-established, not-for-profit agency, where children and families come first.

“I thought I was too old to apply for fostering at 64, but I’ve loved every single solitary second. I’m now 77 and I’ve fostered three teenagers successfully to adulthood. The support from Anchor is unbelievable, the training is fantastic and my social worker as made in heaven. I have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and I teach my foster children the same values. I only have two rules, no swearing and show respect and it has worked. My child is a lovely young man. He is a son to me.” – Joyce (Foster Carer).
