Exercise for under 5's

Here are some simple exercises for under 5's. Not all of these exercises will apply to all children in this age range so apply them where you can.

Get your children to do some of the following:

  • Stand - sitting to standing
  • Walking
  • Crawling
  • Swimming - fun for parent and child
  • Dancing - put on some music and encourage movement

Along with this, you can take them to the park and encourage them to play with friends. It is recommended by the NHS that children should spend little time in chairs and that free movement should be encouraged. The NHS also recommends that once a child can walk on their own without help they should do around 3 hours of exercise a day. To find out more visit the NHS website
